BCNU is affiliated to the Canadian Federation of Nurses' Unions, the Canadian Labour Congress and the BC Federation of Labour.
Canadian Federation of Nurses Union (CFNU)
BCNU has belonged to the CFNU and its predecessor the National Federation of Nurses' Unions since 1994.
CFNU is the national organization representing nurses' unions and their 125,000 members from coast to coast. In addition to BCNU, CFNU is composed of the United Nurses of Alberta, the Saskatchewan Union of Nurses, the Manitoba Nurses' Union, the Ontario Nurses' Association, the New Brunswick Nurses Union, the Nova Scotia Nurses' Union, the PEI Nurses' Union and the Newfoundland and Labrador Nurses' Union.
CFNU enjoys close working relations with its counterpart in Quebec, the Federation des Infermiers et Infermieres de Quebec (FIIQ).
Headquartered in Ottawa, CFNU is run by an elected president and secretary treasurer who are assisted by a national executive board composed of senior leaders of the member provincial organizations.
CFNU holds conventions every two years. The next biennium is scheduled for St. John's, Newfoundland June 5-8, 2007.

Canadian Labour Congress (CLC)
BCNU has been affiliated to the Canadian Labour Congress since 1997 through our membership in CFNU.
The CLC is the largest labour organization in the country, bringing together most trade unions to provide a voice for all working people on the major national issues such as employment, pensions, and other social programs.

BC Federation of Labour
BCNU has been a member of the BC Federation of Labour since 2002. The BC Fed is an umbrella organization of labour unions in British Columbia, providing a united voice on the major social and economic issues facing working people in the province.
