Labour Relations/Servicing
BCNU's Labour Relations Officers (LROs) help stewards protect members' rights under their contracts. The LROs are assigned to specific worksites and are organized into teams led by a coordinator of negotiation and servicing. LROs help stewards investigate, file and process grievances, and help BCNU legal counsel argue cases at arbitration and before the Labour Relations Board.

Communications and Campaigns
The Communications department helps inform BCNU members and the public about the union's activities, positions and concerns through BCNU publications and the news media . Campaigns officers help members organize campaigns for better working conditions and better patient care.

Education
Among the programs provided by BCNU's Education Department are basic steward training, advanced grievance handling, contract interpretation and organizing skills and regional workshops on current issues.

Occupational Health and Safety
The OH&S department works to prevent occupational injury and disease and to ensure fair benefits to members who become injured or sick.
