Nurses believe British Columbians have the right to safe, high-quality health care.

That's why BCNU issued a Patient's Bill of Rights in February 2004.

The Patient's Bill of Rights sets out what we believe the health care system should be providing to patients. In our Patient's Bill of Rights, BC nurses propose specific and far-reaching improvements to the services and quality of care available to patients under our publicly-funded health care system.

It includes minimum standards and guaranteed treatment times for patients visiting an emergency room, requiring surgery, seeking community health services, requiring palliative care or needing a nursing home bed.
