Repair The Care is a campaign about better healthcare for patients and better practice environments for nurses. The campaign will:

  • educate members about the real reasons for overwork and overcapacity and promote solutions to improve healthcare
  • create a connection between our work lives and the wellbeing of communities through the strengthening of public healthcare
  • influence voters to elect candidates who support public healthcare

Educating nurses about overwork

BC's Liberal government promotes a myth saying public healthcare is not sustainable and only privatization will cure the system.  That's untrue.  Public healthcare is the most affordable way to deliver the greatest amount of health outcomes.

BCNU has produced a 15 minute documentary that explains the real reasons for overwork. When nurses understand that difficult practice conditions are caused by the policy choices of the government – solutions to resolve workload problems become more obvious.

Advocating for patients - speaking up for public healthcare

Through Repair the Care nurses can work with other BCNU members in their area to improve patient care and nursing conditions.   Contact your regional chairperson or lobbyist to find the Repair the Care coordinator in your area.
