BCNU's Health and Safety Department responds effectively to members' health and safety concerns. We strive to empower our members and stewards to make their workplaces safe and influence employers to implement comprehensive, evidence based H&S programs. We advocate for fair compensation, and benefits for injured and ill members and work to ensure members are treated appropriately in disability management programs.

BCNU provides all health and safety stewards a one-day education course so they can function as union representatives with management on joint occupational health and safety committees. These joint committees are the prime mechanism for dealing with OH&S issues in the workplace.
