BCNU joins other workers to protest the world trade organization
On November 30th thousands of people from around North America and the world will come together to oppose the WTO negotiations being held in Seattle, Washington. These negotiations will have a detrimental impact on the provision of publicly owned and funded health care in Canada.
BCNU, along with numerous other unions and organizations, have rented a bus to transport interested members to and from Seattle for a march and rally on November 30, 1999.
A bus will be leaving the BCNU office early Tuesday, November 30th at approximately 6:30 a.m. (time to be confirmed) and returning the same day in the early evening. (The rally ends at 3:00 p.m.) The bus can only seat 47 people in total.
If you are interested in being part of the protest and are willing to donate your time and support, please call as soon as possible to reserve a seat. First come, first served. (Consideration will be given to securing another bus depending on interest by members.)
BCNU is only providing the transportation to and from the rally. There will be no salary reimbursement and other expenses will not be covered.
In order to expeditiously get through the border crossing you must be willing to share your date of birth and citizenship status when registering.
