Research will help BCNU organize against health care cuts
Members are encouraged to cooperate with interviewers from the firm McIntyre and Mustel, if you are telephoned to participate in a focus group or poll

BCNU has hired the research firm McIntyre and Mustel to help us better understand members’ attitudes toward a number of key issues facing nurses and the health care system.

As part of the first phase of the project, McIntyre and Mustel is currently telephoning members in the Lower Mainland and Fraser Valley asking if they wish to participate in one of two focus groups.

The second phase will be a telephone poll involving a random sample of 500 BCNU members across the province.

The research will assist the union in developing programs that reflect members’ concerns and lead to effective actions in support of members and the needs of patients, in the face of government cuts to health care and social services, and the breaking of the health care collective agreements.

Members will be questioned on their attitudes towards what the Liberal government is doing on various issues including health care cuts, Bill 29, and privatization, and about possible actions members want the union to take.

McIntrye and Mustel is an experienced social science research firm which has done much high-quality work for BCNU in the past.

If you are called for the project please co-operate with the interviewer.
