Nominations have now closed for the upcoming BCNU election for the positions of Executive Councillor (2) and Treasurer.
The three candidates running for the two BCNU Executive Councillor positions are: Maxine Armstrong, Len Rose and Andy Wiebe.
The two candidates running for BCNU Treasurer are: Mabel Tung and Lesley Walker.
You will find election statements from each of the candidates and their biographies posted at www.bcnu.org by the end of February. The same info will also be included in the next issue of Update magazine, which will be mailed to all BCNU members in March 2003. Then, on April 30, an election brochure featuring the candidates and voting instructions will also be mailed to all members.
That mailing will also include clear, concise instructions on how to use BCNU’s televoting system and your own Personal Identity Number. To vote, you can use your PIN anywhere in North America except Hawaii and Alaska (a 1-800 number will be provided). You can also vote 24 hours per day during the election period which runs from 9 AM on May 1 to 12 Noon on May 30, 2003.
