BCNU Election Ends on Friday
The vote for BCNU’s executive councillors and treasurer  ends at 12 Noon on May 30, 2003

BCNU members have until 12 Noon on Friday, May 30 to vote in the election for executive councillors (2) and treasurer.

The two candidates running for BCNU treasurer are Mabel Tung and Lesley Walker. The three candidates running for the two BCNU executive councillor positions are Maxine Armstrong, Len Rose and Andy Wiebe.

You will find election statements and the biographies of each candidate in the latest issue of Update magazine, which was recently mailed to all BCNU members. You should also have received a BCNU election package that was mailed to the homes of all BCNU members on April 30. The mailing included the statements and biographies of each candidate; instructions on how to use BCNU’s televoting system; and your Personal Identity Number.

Here’s how BCNU’s new televoting system works:
  1. You can vote 24 hours per day during the election period, which runs from 9 AM on May 1 to 12 Noon on May 30, 2003.

  2. To vote, simply telephone 1-877-313-2121 from anywhere in Canada or the continental USA (excluding Hawaii and Alaska).

  3. You’ll be greeted by a voice that prompts you to answer a series of questions using your telephonekeypad.

  4. The first question asks you to provide your Personal Identity Number.

  5. After correctly punching in your PIN, you’ll be asked to vote for one candidate for treasurer, and then, two different candidates for executive councillor.
If you have any questions about televoting, or if you didn’t receive your election package, please call the BCNU election hotline at 1-800-894-3311.
