BCNU members elect a new treasurer and two executive councillors
Mabel Tung has been elected treasurer of the British Columbia Nurses’ Union. Andy Wiebe and Len Rose have been elected as BCNU executive councillors.
The election ended at 12 noon today, May 30, following a 30-day televote, the second in BCNU’s history. A total of 3,006 members voted in the election.
In the race for treasurer, Mabel Tung won 2,020 votes and Lesley Walker received 981 votes.
In the election for the two executive councillor positions, Andy Wiebe won 2,464 votes, Len Rose received 1,813 votes and Maxine Armstrong received 1,695 votes.
The BCNU Nominations committee wishes to extend congratulations to all the candidates who put their names forward and conducted themselves in a respectful and collegial manner throughout the election campaign.
