You Could Change The Way Democracy Works (or doesn’t) in B.C.
But you must be on the Voters List by August 22, 2003

The Govt. of B.C. is creating an independent assembly of 158 British Columbians who will examine our system of voting. You must be on the voters list to be one of the 158 citizens selected.

"The Citizens’ Assembly" will review various voting systems and listen to other British Columbians’ views on our current system of voting. This Assembly will then decide which electoral system is best for our province. If this current system is not the preferred choice than all British Columbians we will have the opportunity to vote on changing our system to the voting system suggested by the Citizens’ Assembly.

If you want the chance to be part of the Citizens’ Assembly you must:
  • be a Canadian citizen
  • reside in B.C. (for at least 6 months)
  • be over 18
  • be a registered voter in B.C. by August 22, 2003
Here’s how to register for the Provincial Voters List, check to see if you are already on the list or update your address information;
