Nurses bargaining committee holds first meeting with HEABC
The Nurses’ Bargaining Association held its first bargaining meeting with HEABC yesterday.
It was a relatively short session and the two sides discussed the NBA’s request for data on some of the key issues affecting the nursing workforce.
HEABC explained why some of the data would be difficult to provide.
The NBA committed to review alternative proposals for gathering the data, and to respond to HEABC next week.
The atmosphere at the bargaining table was somewhat more open than in the past. However, it is too early to say whether the outlook for bargaining is positive.
The NBA is hoping to build a more cooperative relationship with health employers.
No dates have been set for further meetings as yet.
