PJAC Bulletin #7

The Provincial Job Action Committee would like to acknowledge the hard work of BCNU strategic workers and the high level of response and support from BCNU members over the past very difficult week.

Defence Fund Payments
Defence fund claims may be made by BCNU members only if all the following conditions are met:
  1. You have lost normal wages.

  2. You have fulfilled the minimum number of job action hours required of each member per week as directed by the Worksite Job Action Committee (WJAC).

  3. A copy of a recent pay stub is sent within 7 days to your WJAC treasurer/steward so that your net hourly pay can be calculated. (This is to speed up the process, rather than waiting for the pay stub that covers the job action period.)

  4. You ensure that your Social Insurance Number and home address are included.

  5. For community nurses, you include the street address of your health unit so the BCNU office can identify the correct worksite.
