Hot Dog Day in the Park
BCNU members invited to rally for contracted health care workers (Sodexho) Wednesday at Vancouver General Hospital

The park at 10th and Heather, near Vancouver General Hospital
BCNU members are invited to join HEU members in support of hospital food service workers and cleaners who have taken job action against the Sodexho Corporation.
The HEU local at VGH will be serving food and refreshments to show solidarity with the Sodexho workers. A speaker from BCNU will join speakers from HEU and other labour organizations at the event which is being dubbed “Hot Dog Day in the Park”.
The event will take place from 11am to 2pm in the park at the corner of 10th Avenue and
Heather St. near VGH.
More than 90 per cent of the mostly female workforce at Sodexho earn $10.50 an hour. The union is proposing an increase to $12.90, increasing to $14.90 over a four year contract. HEU says the company took in $17 billion dollars in global revenues last year. The company CEO took in $1.4 million in salary and benefits.
