BCNU - 25 YEARS STRONG!
BCNU celebrates our 25th Anniversary this year
BCNU is celebrating our 25th Anniversary this year, commemorating a quarter-century of nurses working together to improve our position in the workplace, in the economy and in our communities.
February 1981 marked the union's founding convention when what was then called the "Labour Relations Division" made a final break from the RNABC to become the BC Nurses' Union.
We'll be marking the anniversary in several ways beginning with Convention 2006 this week:
- Convention 2006 will take place under the banner "BCNU-25 Years Strong"
- Convention delegates will view a special 25th Anniversary video commemorating the highlights of the union's history. The video will be available on DVD for delegates, and for downloading from the BCNU website
- A special edition of the Update magazine will be released at Convention and mailed to all members
- A redesigned and re-organized BCNU website is being developed and will be launched sometime in the spring
- RN pins proclaiming "BCNU - 25 Years Strong" will be available for purchase through the union office
Other projects and activities may be announced later.
