Joye Morris bargaining scheduled for Oct. 10-11
Bargaining committee develops plan of action and sets priorities, after BCNU members show they're prepared to take whatever job action is necessary to achieve an acceptable collective agreement
BCNU members at Joye Morris Health Services are determined to secure a new collective agreement that meets their needs, and are prepared to take whatever action is necessary to achieve it.
That's the message that comes through loud and clear from the bargaining survey that more than half the members filled out last month and from a series of well-attended membership meetings across the province.
As a result, the bargaining committee met today (Oct. 3) to develop a plan of action and to determine the priorities they'll be taking to the bargaining table.
A new round of negotiations with the employer has been scheduled for Oct. 10 and 11.
Priorities for members include sick leave, compensation, recruitment and retention, and other issues.
Feedback received by BCNU shows that members are determined to take a variety of job actions up to and including full scale picket lines to achieve an acceptable collective agreement.
Thanks to all members who took the time to fill out the survey and to attend meetings. The bargaining committee will provide updates during the bargaining process.
