There's still time to vote
BCNU televote for executive councillor positions runs until 12 Noon on May 25, 2007

BCNU's election for the positions of executive councillor (OH&S) and executive councillor (Pensions) runs from 9 AM on May 1 to 12 Noon on May 25, 2007.

The three candidates running for the Executive Councillor (Pensions) are Maxine Armstrong, Len Rose and Howard Searle. The two candidates running for Executive Councillor (OH&S) are Marg Dhillon and Frances Holowach.

The 2007 BCNU election is the first time there are separate elections for the two executive councillor positions. This change reflects the specialized duties each will perform in addition to their common responsibilities. Executive councillor (Pensions) will chair BCNU's Pension Committee and Retired Nurses Network Committee. Executive Councillor (OH&S) will chair BCNU's OH&S Committee and serve as a board member of the Occupational Health and Safety Agency for Healthcare.

On April 30, BCNU mailed an election package to the homes of all BCNU members who have given the union their address. The mailing included the statements and biographies of each candidate; instructions on how to use BCNU's televoting system (the only method of voting); and a Personal Identity Number.

You will also find election information in the latest issue of Update magazine, which was mailed to all BCNU members in early May.

If you have any questions about televoting, or if you have not received your election package, please call the BCNU election hotline at 1-800-894-3311.
