Parkwood Court, Parkwood Place and The Kensington staff ratify new three-year contract

RNs and other health care workers at Victoria's Parkwood Court, Parkwood Place and The Kensington ratified their new contract on June 7, 2007. The three-year collective agreement covers both BCNU and Hospital Employees' Union members.

For the 11 BCNU members who deliver care at Parkwood Court, the settlement includes market adjustments and wage increases totalling 10 per cent to 10.5 per cent over the life of the agreement, which expires on June 30, 2009.

On January 1, 2009, BCNU members at Parkwood Court who are paid at the Step 7 level will receive $35.09 per hour, slightly ahead of the PCA rate.

Other improvements achieved in this round of bargaining include increased shift premiums and changes to the language regarding sick leave and occupational health and safety.
