Public Service Nurses' ratify new contract

Public Service nurses have voted overwhelmingly to ratify their new contract.

The margin in favour of the Public Service Nurses 13th Master Agreement was 98.2 per cent, following a mail-in ballot by members of BCNU and the Union of Psychiatric Nurses.

The agreement was reached in December following lengthy negotiations between the Public Service Nurses Bargaining Association (PSNBA) and the Public Service Agency of BC (PSABC).

The four year agreement provides annual wage increases of 3 per cent, 3.5 per cent, 3.5 per cent and 4.2 per cent. It also provides increases in shift differential, a signing bonus, and other improvements. The contract expires December 31, 2010.
