BCNU moves to withdraw Labour Board application to represent LPNs
More than 3,000 LPNs signed BCNU memberships, giving our union a strong base of support

BCNU has moved to withdraw our application to the Labour Relations Board for a vote to represent LPNs in the Facilities Bargaining Association. Updated LPN information shows the number of LPNs working in the facilities sector is larger than anticipated, indicating a majority of provincial LPNs did not sign BCNU membership applications by November 30, 2009.

At the same time, LPNs' organizing drive to join BCNU has achieved a strong base of support. More than 3000 LPNs signed BCNU membership applications, and BCNU will continue to develop effective relationships with supporters through our ongoing associate membership program.

We continue to believe that all nurses should be in one union, and we will continue to have dialogue with our own members and with LPN activists.

For further information please call BCNU's Organizing Department at 1.800.663.9991 Local 2602.
