HealthLink BC will transition to the Ministry of Health Services
BCNU has scheduled dates to negotiate member’s transition issues
On March 11, 2010 HealthLink BC (Nurse Line) announced the organization will
transition to the Ministry of Health Services. Even though responsibility for
HLBC is transferring to the Ministry, BCNU-represented employees will continue
to be employed by the Emergency and Health Services Commission.
RNs at HealthLink BC currently have a separate collective agreement, and this
change will transition RNs to BCNU’s Provincial Collective Agreement.
In meetings with BCNU representatives on March 16 and 17, RNs at HealthLink
BC noted the following concerns about their terms of employment as they transition
to the Ministry:
- The portability of seniority
- STIIP plan / sick time banks
- Christmas Eve super-stat
- Cancellation of the shift premium pilot project
- Market adjustments on wages (3 per cent per annum in 2010 and 2011)
- The status of the work-at-home pilot project
April 9 and April 23 have been set as dates to negotiate these and other transition
issues with the employer. BCNU is confident a transition agreement can be completed
by the end of April 2010.
For further information contact your steward, or BCNU regional Chair Marnie
Hewlett.
BCNU will communicate more information on the transition as it becomes available.
