Nurses join Labour Day rally to send a message to BC government
Increasing gap between rich and poor and taxing people before profits is bad for our health

Debra McPherson, President of the BC Nurses' Union will speak at the BC Federation of Labour rally on Monday September 1 at the Vancouver Art Gallery.

While the Premier's salary was boosted by 54% and he raised top bureaucrats pay by 43%, his government says BC's minimum wage paid workers deserve just $8.00 an hour.

Soaring gas prices and the government's new gas tax also hurts community nurses and the people who need care in their homes and communities.

McPherson says "It's time for this government to start listening to the people who are struggling to survive and to support the nurses and other health care workers who provide the care we need across BC."
