Josh has worked as an RN for over a decade providing care within ER's and ICU's all over the lower mainland and Vancouver Island. Most recently, he left the hospital to pursue another avenue of his career in MHSU. He is also joining the union as a steward. He has been involved in many successful grievances and professional responsibility processes both individually and collaboratively throughout various departments. In this time, he quickly realized that BCNU members have become tired of voicing valid and evident concerns only to be met with a lack of professionalism from the health authorities. If provided with the opportunity to represent BCNU members Josh will strive to strengthen the voice of all nurses in island health.
My name is Alana Williams and I am a RN at Oceanside Health Centre. I have been a registered nurse for 27 years and love what I do. As an RN I am very passionate about our professional standards. I have a strong interest in supporting my fellow colleagues as the Regional Professional Responsibility Advocate if I am the successful candidate. As the PR advocate I plan to support and advocate for safe patient care, liaise and support BCNU members with concerns involving practice issues, provide members with updates and education, communicate/collaborate with the health authority to towards successful resolutions of any problems that arise and, participate in planning the future of nursing. Thank you for the opportunity!
