I am an LPN with a strong commitment to advocating for nurses and the patients and patients we care for. I have seen how essential clear communication, transparency, and member engagement are to building a strong and united union.

I believe every BCNU member deserves to feel informed, heard, and supported. Whether it is updates from bargaining, workplace concerns, or opportunities to get involved, members need timely and accessible communication they can trust.

I want to strengthen the connection between BCNU leadership and members. I will bring enthusiasm, accountability, and a commitment to clear, meaningful communication that keeps members informed, engaged, and connected across our region.

An LPN for 17 years, I hold a FT line in Hospice in Parksville. I have served the membership as Communication Secretary since 2019, through significant transitions in leadership and in our regional activities. I love spending time outside – riding my bike, camping, and exploring nature. I have a professional history of writing and editing, and an MA in English.

If elected, I will continue to provide timely and accurate information about union activities and events, advocate for members’ needs, and broaden our range of outreach efforts. I will make responsible decisions about the use of members’ dues and work collaboratively to build solidarity and push forward our collective goals.

Elyse is a Steward and has been a RN since 2017 across acute, LTC and CHS. She is currently a FT CNL / casual CSO at Comox Valley Hospital. In these roles, Elyse uses her strong organization skills, attention to detail, and ability to communicate with and meet nurses where they are at. Skills that Elyse would bring to the role of Pac Rim’s Communication Secretary.

Her goals are to increase union engagement, modernize communications through social media platforms, and advocate for our membership and profession.

Elyse favours a honest, well thought out approach. She is committed to the coordination and collaborative aspects of this role and would love to be there for Pac Rim.

In her free time she can be found in her garden with her 2 dogs.

I am an RN with over 20 years of nursing experience and about 15 years as a BCNU steward. My experience has built strong skills in advocacy, communication, conflict resolution, relationship building, and navigating the Collective Agreement and grievance process. I have supported members through challenging workplace issues and worked collaboratively to find solutions. I am organized and committed to clear, timely communication. I believe effective union leadership starts with listening, ensuring members’ voices are heard, and keeping them informed. I would bring my frontline nursing experience, extensive steward experience, and commitment to BCNU to the Regional Communications/Secretary role.
