I'm Roy Hansen, RPN at RCH since 2008. I am a tenacious advocate, well known for my strategic leadership and expert knowledge of our Collective Agreement. I have 13+ years as an active Steward plus multiple other BCNU roles. Recognized for my passionate advocacy, I bring a relentless commitment to protecting and improving nurses’ rights in our Region.

With a solid understanding of both Stewards’ and members' needs, I will work to improve collaboration and skill development for our Stewards to become a more powerful regional Steward team.

With 46 years of nursing experience and as a dedicated steward since 2006, I am a strong candidate for the Regional Steward Liaison role. I am a Registered Nurse and work at Royal Columbian Hospital. I am also a member educator and your Simon Fraser Region Mental Health Representative. I possess an intimate knowledge of the collective agreement. My background includes experience in OH&S, PRP, grievances, investigation and displacement meetings, terminations and essential services negotiations. My involvement with HRE caucuses - including the Mosaic of Colour and currently representing Workers with Disabilities - demonstrates my commitment to DEI. I am committed to strengthening our region and empowering and recruiting stewards.
