What do you think about BCNU joining with CFNU?

I think it’s great news because it shows that BCNU is a strong union and that CFNU recognizes that. Working together with a large organization like CFNU, we have a better voice, a stronger voice, federally. Both of us together is a big power! So, I think it’s a good thing. It’s a bigger and better representation of nurses from BC. It means CFNU is recognizing BCNU as a strong union and a great voice for all the nurses in BC. I think it’s going to be a good thing.

I think it’s a great idea, with more people, more power. The leadership of BCNU and CFNU already is well established. Coming together is going to be a stronger voice for the government to hear that the problem of nurses is not just on that side of the country or this side of the country but is all of Canada.

At a time when health care is in crisis, we need a big, strong, national body to fight for nurses. The more people that are a part of it, the better.

I’m very excited. I feel that there’s a bigger membership now, more nurses together, solidarity, and more power.

I’m actually pretty pumped that we’re joining CFNU. I was a nurse in Manitoba for seven years. We were always a part of CFNU. When I moved to BC, I was very disappointed to know we weren’t part of the national body. So now knowing that we are back on with CFNU, I feel super empowered and very happy about it.

I think a bigger union is always a stronger union. Their leader was pretty pumped up today so really working forward to being with them.

I think that BCNU joining CFNU is very great news. I think that we’ve been out of CFNU for quite some time. It’s a great way to repair those relationships and move forward. I think that’s the direction we want to go is to be one solidified unit for the entire country.

Most of all, for any commitment, I think we need to know the pros and cons. That’s one of things we need to be sure of. I’m pretty excited about what I’ve heard this morning about the announcement of BCNU joining CFNU. However, I think, as a member, I would need to know first about the advantages and disadvantages.
