Abbey Glowicki

NU Leader Award recipient profile
Abbey Glowicki is a registered nurse who works at St. Paul’s Hospital in BCNU’s Vancouver Metro region. Glowicki graduated from University of British Columbia in 2023 with a bachelor of science degree in nursing.
Fellow BCNU member Raymond Li, RN says he was thrilled to recommend her nomination. “Abbey is exceptional and her ability to connect with patients is incredible, they just light up around her,” Li says. “As a co-worker, I observed the passion she has for surgical patients. She also works with the young adult population in the community and is dedicated to promoting their health and well-being.”
Glowicki’s many certifications and professional development experiences in recent years reflect her commitment to lifelong learning. So far in 2025, Glowicki has completed the British Columbia Institute of Technology pelvic exam course and the BC Centre on Substance Use addiction care and treatment course. In her previous work as a sexual health educator, Glowicki facilitated over 400 workshops for more than 10,000 participants. In her nursing practice, Glowicki promotes gender equity, decolonization, and reproductive justice.
