Madelynne Orsini
NU Leader Award Recipient Profile
Madelynne Orsini is a registered nurse at Vancouver General Hospital and serves as the steward liaison for BCNU’s Central Vancouver region.
Orsini graduated from British Columbia Institute of Technology in 2021 with a bachelor of science degree in nursing with distinction.
Central Vancouver regional council member Kristina Hernandez says she wholeheartedly recommended Orsini’s nomination. “Madelynne is an exceptional and highly skilled steward with strong contract knowledge that allowed her to advance and ultimately win several grievances for our members,” she says. “That’s real proof that Madelynne’s leadership improves working conditions for members and upholds our collective agreement.”
Orsini’s many accomplishments include a steward orientation checklist she developed in 2025. This document consolidates existing union resources into a single steward education pathway, an innovation that’s been positively received across the Central Vancouver region.
Orsini’s contributions extend to her work with the provincial steward liaison group and the union’s education team, where she helped staff reimagine the BCNU steward liaison manual and shared her ideas with other BCNU regions to strengthen steward teams and mentorship across the province.
“Madelynne is a fantastic team player who believes that when we invest in one another, we strengthen everyone,” adds Hernandez. “She has strengthened advocacy capacity, elevated standards of excellence, and fostered a mentorship culture that reflects the very best of BCNU’s values.”
Congratulations Madelynne!
