IEN Associate Membership

BCNU welcomes internationally educated nurses (IENs) who are not yet members of the union through their employment to become associate members of the union.

The IEN associate membership is a free membership that provides IENs with the opportunity to apply for the Internationally Educated Nurse Bursary awarded annually.

The member number that IENs receive when they become IEN associate members will remain with them for their union life with BCNU.  The BCNU member number stays the same when the IEN becomes employed at a BCNU unionized worksite.

IEN associate members can also receive a copy of Update Magazine, which regularly features student and young nurses and offers up-to-date information on many issues affecting nurses.
