Celebrate National Nursing Week with BCNU
Building on the success of last year, BCNU is once again celebrating national nursing week by sponsoring two nurses to attend the International Council of Nurses (ICN) Congress in Barcelona, Spain from May 27 to June 1, 2017. The ICN 2017 is the world's largest event for nurses with more than 8,000 international nurses expected to be in attendance. Themes include: Health Care Systems; Sustainable Health Care, Disasters and Conflicts; Quality and Safety, Workforce and Workplace and Professional Practice & Policy Innovations.
All BCNU nurses are invited to submit an expression of interest
This opportunity is offered as part of BCNU's Professional Practice & Advocacy activities.
In addition to conference registration, all travel, accommodation and meal expenses will be provided as per BCNU policy however, there is no salary replacement.
To be considered you will be required to meet the following criteria:
- Submit a 300-word expression of interest (EOI) online by 1700 on Wednesday March 29, 2017 - To be considered for this opportunity please detail a) Which plenary or main session speaker you are most interested in hearing and why? And b) what experience and expertise will you share with the international nursing community and how will you accomplish this?
- Agree to have your name, EOI and photo included in any BCNU marketing materials, such as the website and social media.
- Agree to be interviewed after the conference for BCNU's Update magazine, sharing your experience and learnings.
- Ability to travel to Barcelona for the conference dates May 27-June 1, 2017.
NOTE: Previous winners are not eligible.
The provincial executive will select the successful applicants who will be contacted by April 18, 2017.
Winners will be announced publicly during National Nursing Week May 8-14, 2017.
