In preparation for next years bargaining, the BCNU invites members covered under the Nurses? Bargaining Association (NBA) contract to attend this one-day meeting in your region.

Led by Cody Hedman, BCNU's Chief Executive Officer and Chief Negotiator for the NBA, these bargaining conferences are another opportunity for members to identify top bargaining priorities and outcomes for which members would be prepared for job action if necessary. Members will also hear about the current bargaining climate and the process of bargaining.

Other meeting objectives include the selection of delegates and alternates to the Provincial Bargaining Conference; and the nomination and election of candidates from your region to run for positions on the NBA Bargaining* and Provincial Job Action Committees. Please note that as per Article 7.04 of the BCNU Constitution & Bylaws, at least one (1) member will be allowed to attend from each worksite.

Lunch will be provided.

IMPORTANT: these regional bargaining conferences will be offered as a hybrid of in-person and virtual. However, considering the fluidity of the pandemic situation, should circumstances and/or the PHO orders change, these meetings will be converted to 100% virtual. Members will be notified of any changes as far in advance as possible.

Please also note that for the safety of members attending this event in-person, all applicable PHO and venue related COVID-19 pandemic safety measures will be followed, including the PHO requirement to show proof of vaccination to gain access to the venue (effective September 13, 2021 onwards). Members confirmed to attend a regional bargaining conference in-person will be notified in advance about all applicable COVID-19 safety measures, including the vaccination status requirements.
