New BC Nurses' Union Council assumes office September 1

The union's provincial executive committee sees two new faces: President Gayle Duteil and Executive Councillor (Health and Safety) Will Offley join Vice President Christine Sorensen, Executive Councillor (Pensions) Deb Ducharme and Treasurer Mabel Tung. Duteil and Offley replaced former President Debra McPherson and former Executive Councillor Marg Dhillon.

Many new leaders were also elected to the union's 16 regional executives. Nine new regional chairs will join 11 incumbent chairs and the five members of the provincial executive committee that comprise the 25-member BCNU Council.

All members assuming office have been elected for a three-year term.
