Bargaining Update: Public Service Agreement

June 01, 2020
Negotiators resume meetings virtually after process put on hold due to COVID-19

Bargaining for the renewal of the Seventeenth Nurses' Master and Component Agreements was put on hold due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The BCNU bargaining team met virtually earlier this month to review non-monetary counter proposals from the Employer.

Both the BCNU bargaining team and the Employer have agreed to resume bargaining virtually and will continue to work on the outstanding non-monetary proposals. To ensure compliance with COVID-19 guidelines particularly related to social distancing, both parties will use video conferencing technology and electronic communications to conduct meetings until it is safe to meet in-person.

The process of scheduling additional dates with the Employer to start working on monetary proposals is now underway. Both parties are committed to successfully concluding the bargaining process over the summer.

The terms of the current Sixteenth Nurses' Master and Component Agreements will continue until a new contract is negotiated.
