BCNU Convention 2022 Adjourns

November 04, 2022
More than 400 members gathered at the Hyatt Regency hotel in Vancouver to attend the three-day annual convention

Delegates from the BC Nurses' Union's 16 regions gathered from Nov. 2 to Nov. 4 to discuss the business of the union. They were joined by BCNU leadership and other nursing union leaders from across the country.

This year's theme, 'Strength in Solidarity,' was echoed throughout the three days of convention.

On the first day of the convention, Nov. 2, Linda Silas, president of the Canadian Federation of Nurses Unions (CFNU), spoke at the convention and announced that BCNU will be joining CFNU - a move that's anticipated to strengthen nurses' voices in BC, and across the country.

And on Nov. 4, hundreds of nurses marched through the streets of downtown Vancouver, to raise awareness about the mounting pressure on the health care system, and the dire impact it's having on patient care.

Regular union convention business also took place over the course of three days, including discussions of proposed constitution and bylaws amendments and reports from BCNU leadership.
