Nurses encouraged to show their support for public service employees in their job action

BCNU is in close contact with BC General Employees' Union (BCGEU) leadership, extending our appreciation and solidarity to its members following their decision to engage in job action for fair wages on behalf of all workers in British Columbia. The union has publicly acknowledged its support for BCGEU members on social media, in addition to BCNU Vice President Adriane Gear speaking with Global News about what this means for all public sector unions.

Members of BCGEU set up picket lines on Monday, Aug. 15 at liquor distribution centres in Victoria, Kamloops, Richmond and Delta.

Members are encouraged to show their solidarity for BCGEU workers in the following ways:

  • Visit the picket line to support those on strike at the following locations:
    • Delta Distribution Centre – 7003 72nd Street, Delta
    • Kamloops Distribution Centre – 9881 Dallas Drive, Kamloops
    • Richmond Distribution Centre – 3389 No. 6 Road, Richmond
    • Victoria Wholesale Customer Centre – 2291 Government Street, Victoria
  • Use their online tool to email your MLA and ask them to join you in your support for BCGEU members.
  • Tweet or post your support for @BCGEU using the hashtag #StandWithPublicSectorWorkers
