Union Pressures Health Employers to Provide Timelines for Retroactive Pay Increases

August 02, 2023
Delays to implement contract language regarding wages unacceptable

The 2022-2025 Nurses’ Bargaining Association provincial collective agreement includes general wage increases and improved shift premiums amounting to the largest pay increases in over a decade. Unfortunately, members continue to wait for provincial health employers to follow through on implementation of this important contract language. The delay in processing the negotiated retroactive pay increases causes tremendous frustration and hampers the mutual respect necessary to build trust in the workplace.

BCNU will continue to pressure the Health Employers Association of BC (HEABC) and health authority managers to ensure this issue is resolved as soon as possible.

The following table highlights the pay increases negotiated in the 2022-2025 NBA provincial collective agreement and the dates they come into effect.
