BCNU Nominations Committee Special Election: Call for Nominations

April 02, 2024
All eligible members encouraged to seek nomination

The Nominations Committee is made up of five members who work together to conduct BCNU elections and assume responsibility for a fair and transparent election process. A special election for four vacancies on the provincial Nominations Committee will be held during BCNU’s annual convention from May 28 to 30. Delegates to the union’s annual convention will vote for four members who will serve on this non-partisan electoral body from close of voting until the end of term on Aug. 31, 2025.

Members who are interested in running for one of the four vacant positions on the Nominations Committee must submit a nomination form by the close of nominations on 12 pm noon PDT on April 30. The nominations form is available behind the BCNU Member Portal.

Members who serve on the Nominations Committee can hold no BCNU office above that of steward and must not be seen to be supporting any candidate in provincial or regional BCNU elections. Potential candidates wishing to run for a position on this non-partisan electoral body must be endorsed by four BCNU members in good standing.
