BCNU Thanks Nurses Who Ran in Municipal Elections

November 21, 2014
Congratulations to all nurses who ran in BC's recent municipal elections.

Congratulations to all the nurses who ran in BC's recent municipal elections, including the following members who applied for and received support from BCNU and were elected:

  • Public health nurse Linda Buchanan was handily re-elected with the second highest number of votes for councillor in the city of North Vancouver.
  • Home and community care nurse Michael Prevost made his first run for municipal office on November 15, and will soon be attending a council meeting as the city of Terrace's newest councillor.

Although BCNU is non-partisan, our ongoing work to protect public health care includes support of members who seek elected leadership roles through our election candidate support policy (Policy 5.1.29, available on the BCNU Member Portal).
