Personal Resilience Workshops

July 29, 2015
Surviving and thriving in today's health care workplace

BCNU Council has approved a series of Personal Resilience Workshops for nurses across the province starting this fall. The nursing profession is highly demanding with many physical and psychological hazards. Many of you are routinely exposed to trauma, violence and human suffering on a daily basis.

These workshops will help you identify and recognize signs of compassion fatigue and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) in yourself and in your colleagues. It will also help you develop the skills for mitigating the risks from work-related moral distress and compassion fatigue and will provide you with strategies for developing personal and professional resilience.

Any BCNU member is eligible to attend these workshops. Please visit the BCNU Event Calendar, and filter your search by 'workshops' to find dates and locations for the next sessions in your area.

The workshop is free but salary replacement and/or travel expense reimbursement is not available. Each workshop will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. A light breakfast starting at 8:30 AM and lunch will be provided to all participants.

Maximum registration for each workshop is capped at 20 people. BCNU however, reserves the right to cancel the session if there are insufficient numbers (less than 10 participants).
