Human Rights and Equity Book Club - True Reconciliation by Jody Wilson-Raybould

Do you want to help advance reconciliation? Join BCNU’s Human Rights and Equity summer book club to read Jody Wilson-Raybould’s True Reconciliation and deepen your understanding of Canada’s colonial history, policies and practices that have led to the ongoing oppression of Indigenous Peoples today. The book club also provides members with an opportunity to discuss our abiding commitment to truth and reconciliation.
Book club members are encouraged to attend three scheduled sessions that follow the book’s three parts:
- Learn: July 15, 7 – 9 p.m.
- Understand: July 29, 7 – 9 p.m.
- Act: August 12, 7 – 9 p.m.
Sessions can be attended in-person at BCNU’s head office in Burnaby or via Zoom. Snacks and light refreshments will be served at the in-person sessions. Sessions will begin with a synopsis of the part of the book they will focus on.
Find the book at your local library or support Indigenous-owned independent bookstores: Iron Dog Books or Massy Books.
The book club is open to all BCNU members, students and staff. Register today for all three sessions:
