Are you a new BCNU worksite steward looking to gain more experience and knowledge to support you in this role? This introductory course gives new BCNU worksite stewards the tools to create and maintain a consistent practice to advocate for and empower members to stand up for themselves and protect their workplace rights. It covers key components of steward work and examines the grievance process so stewards can present grievances confidently at the Step 1 level.
Steward Essentials is a blended learning course comprised of online learning activities completed virtually during a live orientation and two live class sessions.
Online orientation learning activities occur on May 1, and two in-person live sessions are on May 6 and 7.
This course is supported through the BCNU Learning Centre, BCNU's learning management system. Stewards will need to log in or create a new user account to apply.
BCNU reimburses participants for three days’ salary.
