The Journey We Share: A Dinner and Evening of Storytelling for Internationally Educated Nurses
Moving to a new country to practice nursing in an unfamiliar health-care system comes with new challenges, opportunities, and barriers. Internationally educated nurses (IEN) may feel isolated as they navigate a new health-care system, workplace culture, and professional community.
Hosted by BCNU’s IEN committee and the Mosaic of Colour caucus, this event is a safe and welcoming space for IENs to find community, build connections and feel supported by others who share a similar journey. There is an opportunity to engage in thoughtful reflection, art, and discussion. Attendees will hear from other IENs about challenges, successes and lessons learned while building careers in Canada. The evening will include presentations about how to access union learning opportunities and supports.
This event will be held in hybrid format.
Open to all members, and students, who are internationally educated nurses.
The event is not salary replaced.
