Foundations in Occupational Health and Safety focuses on fundamental safety skills and strengthens members knowledge of worker safety rights and responsibilities. The course includes modules on worker rights, employer and worker responsibilities, union resources to help promote workplace safety and helps members develop confidence to better support colleagues through collaborative action.
The online learning activities are available as of Nov. 5, 2025. The in-person live session is Dec. 10, 2025. This course is delivered through the BCNU Learning Centre, BCNU's learning management system. Members need to login or create a new user account to apply.
Participants will be salary reimbursed for one day of union leave. Members will be notified of acceptance approximately four weeks prior to the course start date.
