The BCNU Nominations Committee has announced the dates of the special election to fill the position of treasurer on the provincial executive committee.

The special election follows the resignation of the provincial treasurer in September. Scott Duvall is currently serving as interim provincial treasurer. The process to fill the position is outlined in Article 5 of the BCNU Constitution and Bylaws and Policy 5.2.8 – Elected Officer Elections (BCNU Policy and Procedures Manual, available behind the BCNU Member Portal).

The call for nominations for the provincial treasurer position opens at 12 p.m. PST on Nov. 17 and closes at 12 p.m. PST on Nov. 23. The campaigning period will begin on Nov. 24 at 12 p.m. PST after the Nominations Committee vets nominees to ensure that the declaration and statement of objectives are not in contravention of the election rules and regulations and provides the candidate orientation session on the morning of Nov. 24.

Online voting will open at 12 p.m. PST on Nov. 29 and close at 12 p.m. PST on Dec. 1. The successful candidate will be announced after voting closes by the end of the day on Dec. 1.
