BCNU Provincial General Elections
Nominations open April 6-20 and voting takes place May 4-7
Elections for BCNU’s provincial executive officers and regional council members are held every three years in accordance with Article 5.01 of its Constitution and Bylaws. The last election was held in 2023. The next election will take place this year.
The nominations and voting periods have now been established for BCNU's 2026 elections by the Nominations Committee, which oversees the union’s election and assumes responsibility for a fair and transparent election process.

Any member in good standing who wishes to run for a position in the BCNU election can submit a nomination form electronically via the BCNU Member Portal, beginning Apr. 6.

- election eligibility criteria, including the steward experience policy.
Campaigning does not begin until the campaign period opens – the opening date for the campaign period will be announced by the Nominations Committee in due course.
The Nominations Committee determines candidate eligibility, investigates member or candidate complaints received during a campaign or election period and makes decisions and recommendations for corrective action to ensure a fair and democratic election process.
