The BC Nurses' Union is looking forward to working together with BC's new government following today's swearing in of NDP leader John Horgan as the 36th premier of the province. During the formal announcement July 18, Premier Horgan introduced all members of the new NDP cabinet including the Hon. Adrian Dix as Minister of Health, the Hon. Judy Darcy as Minister of Mental Health and Addictions and the Hon. Carole James as Minister of Finance and Deputy Premier.

"As we look to plan our future meetings on key portfolios such as violence in health care, we are excited about the opportunity to sit down and begin working together with the new ministers on the numerous issues facing nurses and allied health care workers," says BCNU Vice President Christine Sorensen.

BCNU also looks forward to working with the new government in a collaborative solution-based manner, in order to address a number of current obstacles that directly impact nurses' ability to deliver safe patient care.
