Joint Occupational Health & Safety Committee Basics

Joint Occupational Health and Safety (JOHS) committees are a cornerstone of effective health and safety programs. JOHS committees have a range of duties including the ability to inspect workplaces, investigate OHS concerns, and make recommendations to employers. This foundational level, blended learning course helps JOHS committee representatives learn about the crucial role they play in creating and maintain safe, healthy worksites for all members.
The online learning activities are available as of April 21, 2025. The virtual live session is May 7, 2025. This course is delivered through the BCNU Learning Centre, BCNU's learning management system. Stewards need to log in or create a new user account to apply. BCNU reimburses participants for one days’ salary. Learn more.
