Mental Health Awareness Week

May 02, 2016
May 2 - May 8, 2016

This week is Mental Health Awareness Week and the BC Nurses' Union encourages our members to consider their own mental wellness and that of their loved ones.

One in four adults suffers from mental illness in any given year. However stigma surrounding it often prevents people from seeking treatment. Events during Mental Health Awareness Week are aimed at creating awareness about mental health and putting an end to the stigma.

This year BCNU is encouraging our members to support the B4 Stage4 campaign endorsed by the Canadian Mental Health Association and their #GetLoud / wear green activities.

BCNU is a powerful voice for mental health advocacy. Review our position statement on mental health care system reform. Learn more about BCNU's Personal Resilience Workshops and when they will be in your area by checking out the events calendar and filter by 'workshops'.

Link up with your BCNU Regional Mental Health and Occupation Health & Safety (OH&S) Representatives. You'll find them on the BCNU website under About BCNU - Your Regional Representatives.

If you are NOT receiving updates, news, and events emailed to you, log in to the BCNU Member Portal and update your information.
