BCNU to send $5,000 to support Nepal

April 28, 2015
A magnitude earthquake that struck near Kathmandu, Nepal on April 26 has caused widespread destruction.

News outlets are reporting more than 5000 people dead and millions more in urgent need of help.

The BC Nurses' Union will donate $5,000 to the Canadian Red Cross to assist with the humanitarian efforts following the devastating earthquake in Nepal. We are encouraging members and regions to also assist in providing assistance to this tragic natural disaster. Donate now.

All individual eligible donations made by May 25 towards the Canadian Red Cross Relief Fund for Nepal will be matched by the government of Canada.

You can also donate your Aeroplan miles. Canadian Medical Teams (CMAT), is a registered Canadian charity and a grass roots disaster relief organization made up of volunteer health professionals and non-health volunteers who selflessly give their time and resources to assist and provide relief to assist victims of natural and man-made disasters around the world. CMAT is deploying an initial disaster assessment team. It is collecting Air Canada Aeroplan miles to help offset the costs of volunteer flights. Donate your miles.
