Make your vote count: BCNU encourages members to register to vote in BC's General Provincial Election

March 26, 2013
The general provincial election this May 14th is critical to our members as we continue to work to secure safe staffing for safe patient care.

There is much at stake including the future of our public healthcare system over the next number of years. BCNU members will play an important role in this election as informed citizens and activists. If we do nothing else it is important for us to realize that nurses' votes count and to make sure we all vote.

The first step is for all voters to register. Elections BC makes voter registration very easy. Click here to make sure you are registered to vote or to update your address for the May 14, 2013 BC General Election.

In order to vote you must be a Canadian Citizen, have lived in BC for at least six months, and be over the age of 18. For more information on voting in BC visit www.elections.bc.ca or call 1-800-661-8683 Monday to Friday between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.

In the last provincial election, more than half of eligible voters stayed home. That's why BCNU encourages members to participate in the political process. Stay tuned for more important election information in the coming weeks.
