BC Nurses’ Union Celebrates 43rd Anniversary
On June 11, 1981, two hundred nurses went to the founding convention of the BC Nurses’ Union at the Empress Hotel in Victoria. Each year since then, BCNU recognizes the anniversary of its formation on June 11.
Anniversary celebrations continue this year with the annual BCNU Day quiz. All members are invited to test their knowledge of the union’s history and the important connection between nurses’ occupational health and safety and the successful implementation of minimum nurse-to-patient ratios.
